Things To Do

Orofino Visitors GuideOROFINO IDAHO...

Please view our online Visitors Guide to see all we have to offer!

We invite you to discover our little community packed with outdoor adventure and small town charm. Orofino’s history is rich, but our life style centers on the popular activities of the “here and now”.

Orofino is nestled in a valley bordered on one side by the historic Clearwater River and another side by the 53 mile long Dworshak Lake. This is a town where nature and water collide to offer excitement or tranquility…. The choice is yours!

For year-round fun and recreation, residents and visitors can choose between one of Idaho’s most pristine rivers, the Clearwater, or the beautiful Dworshak Lake. RV riders and hikers can enjoy trails and breathtaking views of the river and lake from Orofino’s surrounding mountains, and travelers will find many camp sites and upscale hotels in which to stay.

Whether you like to fly fish from the side of the river or troll from a jet boat or dory, we have some of the region’s finest fishing and the outfitters to help you pull in the big ones! And you can’t beat boating on the lake, where each mile offers scenic beauty with plenty of camp sites along its banks, room to explore on a jet ski or just drift to your heart’s content. Or if you prefer cold weather activities, hunting, skiing and snowmobiling can be reached within a 15 minute drive of downtown.

Not an outdoors person? Don’t worry! Orofino boasts plenty of unique shopping, dining and indoor relaxation opportunities spanning an affordable range of prices.  Orofino also maintains a full calendar of events from our Holiday Light Parade, to the 4th of July BBQ and Fireworks Show, to our renowned Lumberjack Days in the fall.

Whether you are ready for a thrill or a little rest and relaxation, we invite you to come and stay for as long as you like – we promise you won’t run out of things to do.

Welcome to Orofino!
